Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Victor Bolivar ("Salima", "we", "us") for using the Salima app and the website at salima.im (together, the "Service"). By creating an account you accept them; the app records the date and time you did so.
1. What Salima is
Salima is a personal reminder tool. Each day it shows you one person from a list you keep and asks whether you'd like to reach out. That is the whole service. Salima does not place calls or send messages itself — when you choose to reach someone, it opens the phone, WhatsApp or messaging app already on your device, and what happens there is between you and them.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old. We ask for your date of birth at sign-up to confirm this, and the Service refuses accounts that don't meet it.
3. Your account
You sign in with your email address and a code we send to it. There is no password, so anyone with access to your inbox can access your account — keep your email secure. One account per person. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
4. Your content and other people's details
The names, numbers and notes you add belong to you. We store them only to provide the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. They describe other people, so it is your responsibility to have their details legitimately — for family and friends, that is normally the case — and to remove anyone who asks you to. Don't use Salima to keep lists of people who have not shared their details with you.
5. Acceptable use
Use the Service for its purpose: staying in touch with your own people. Don't:
- try to access other users' accounts or data, or probe or disrupt the systems behind the Service;
- use the Service to harass anyone or to contact people who have asked you not to;
- copy, resell or build a competing service from it;
- use it in any way that breaks the law where you are.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep Salima running, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, pause or discontinue any part of it, and we may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
7. Ending things
You can delete your account at any time from the You tab; everything is removed as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law prevents it.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Salima is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data, arising from use of or inability to use the Service, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim (which, while the Service is free, is nothing). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury or fraud.
Salima is not a substitute for your own judgement about whom to contact and when.
9. Intellectual property
The Salima name, app, website and design are ours. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for its intended purpose while these terms apply. Your content stays yours.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Perú, and disputes go to its courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections where you live.
